Fancy becoming a parish councillor?

On Thursday 2nd May there will be an election for your Ward Councillor on City of York Council and at the same time there will be an election for Elvington's Parish Council.

It's likely some of the existing Parish Councillors will not be standing for re-election this year, so why not put yourself forward? It's an interesting and rewarding way to contribute to the development of the village, without a vast time commitment.

The Parish Council normally meets on the third Tuesday of each month, in the evening.  Anyone can sit in and watch the proceedings.

Want to find out more?  Have a look at the Parish Council pages or you could contact the current Chairman, Ian Bailey (608294) or the Clerk, David Headlam (608721), to have a chat about it.

Nomination packs will be available from CYC Electoral Services or the Clerk in early March.
