Horse Chestnut tree on the green to be felled

The mature Horse Chestnut on the village green has a significant cavity near the base of the tree compromising the integrity of the main trunk and this is the reason for allowing the sad removal of the tree.

The tree is close to a footpath and housing and is situated on the village green used by a number of local residents for
various activities. 

The felling is happening over Tuesday 7th and Wednesday 8th January and it's hoped the stump can be retained to form a seat. The Parish Council will be planting a replacement tree, of a different variety, in the vicinity.
